Risé graduated at the top of her class at the Central Ohio Technical
College. When she joined PCS, she was assigned as a programmer on the
Purchase Order System. Once she completed that task, Risé became a maintenance
programmer. In that capacity, she was exposed to virtually all of the
companys standard accounting system modules inventory,
accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
In 1984, Risé began developing an on-line order processing system for
the printing industry. Beginning as a programmer on the project, she
was promoted to project leader 12 months later.
Risé was among the first PCS programmers in the late 1980s
to begin developing an expertise with Progress and with the Unix
operating system. Progress is a 4th-generation relational
database and application development system. Unix is a powerful
operating system that is ideally suited to business applications.
Together, these components are key to developing robust computing
systems that can grow and change with clients needs.
Currently, Risé is helping to bring a major printing client into the
new millennium with a completely new software system written in Progress
and running under Unix. The system addresses all aspects of the
clients business from customer service to order processing,
from shop-floor data collection to time management and payroll, and
from electronic on-line ordering and shipping to interfacing with typesetting
equipment.
Risé also provides ongoing support, maintenance, and customization
of a medical office software management package, and she has designed,
developed, and implemented a comprehensive carrier distribution management
system.
In her personal life, Risé is devoted to the care of her husband and
daughter. She enjoys music, travel, and American history of the Seventeenth
through Nineteenth centuries.
